Barlow Tyrie is associated the world over with outdoor leisure furniture that strikes the highest notes in quality and style. A family business since 1920, Barlow Tyrie have specialised in the manufacture of teak furniture. More recently they have added furniture in hand-woven synthetic fibre, stainless steel and aluminium. Barlow Tyrie designers have combined pleasing designs with ergonomic performance to create furniture that opens life outdoors to a world of stylish possibilities. Select from a large range of traditional and contemporary pieces for the outdoor room.
Barlow Tyrie uses first grade plantation grown teakwood obtained from the most reputable, legal source in Indonesia. Teak is very stable and resistant to rot, which has made it the first choice for marine and outdoor use over the centuries.
Two grades of stainless steel are used - one is a marine grade which is ideal for coastal areas due to its resistance to oxidisation, while the other grade is more commonly used for inland garden furniture. The aluminium used is ‘virgin aluminium’, which is stronger and longer lasting than the recycled option, then powder coated to prevent oxidisation.
The woven ranges, which have become very popular, are made from the finest synthetic material that is hand-woven over a powder coated aluminium frame to produce splendid furniture that is strong, colour fast and entirely resistant to sun and rain. The fabric slings used on the teak, stainless steel and aluminium furniture are made from Textilene® adding colour, comfort and weather resistance. Textilene® is woven from PVC polyester, non-stretch yarn, which is both strong and mildew resistant.
This furniture is on display in our showrooms at Newbury in Berkshire.
