Ben Heath began making their own, beautiful handmade kitchens and furniture in 2012 in a workshop located in Hungerford. Due to the popularity and success achieved, this has recently moved to fabulous new premises located just 400 metres from the showroom.
The workshop currently has 8 skilled craftsmen using a combination of traditional techniques and modern machinery
to capture the very best in furniture and kitchen making.
The frames and doors are made in stronger and more stable mahogany as our cabinet makers believe this produces greater precision in their work. Solid brass butt hinges with modern, soft close fittings are used and dovetailed oak drawers fitted with superior quality, soft close Gras runners. Cupboards are created with adjustable dog tooth racks to hold luxuriously thick, solid oak shelves. Larder cabinets contain beautifully designed oak spice racks and pullout cabinets have a wooden interior giving a smoother, quieter operation than metal.
Ben is committed to education and the future of the industry and has recently taken on two young apprentices, who are now working towards their cabinet making qualifications.
Each item made in the workshop is designed using sustainable European, North American and African hardwoods renowned for their inherent strength and beauty. Responsibly sourced products are used, carrying a low carbon foot print wherever possible. Our kitchens are built using painted “in-frame” cabinets, combining hardwoods like oak, walnut, cherry and maple.
